orth Bengal is a term used for  northern part of West Bengal and the north-western part of Bangladesh. The geographical diversity blended with the cultures of different ethnic groups has placed North Bengal in the most treasured tourist destinations in Northeast India. North Bengal comprises of seven districts- Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri,Alipurduar, Coochbehar, North Dinajpur, South Dinajpur and Malda.

The Dooars

ooars is said to have been derived from the word Door in English or ‘Dwar’ in local languages as Dooars is the gateway to Bhutan.The Bengal part of Dooars, which stretches from River Teesta on the west to River Sankosh on the east, is an area covering roughly 130 km by 40 km.

The Himalayas

arjeeling Himalaya is the mountainous area on the North-Western side of the state of West Bengal in India. This region belongs to the Eastern Himalaya range. The hills rise from the `Terai` and `Dooars` plains of Bengal and reaches an altitude of more than 12,000 feet.

Historical Places

oochbehar is a historical city of Koch kings, with temples and large water bodies. North and South Dinajpur are basically agricultural plains and Malda again is an old civilization and has its own importance from the archaeological point of view for the famous ruins of Gour kingdom.

Wildlife Sanctuary

anctuary is a protected area which is reserved for the conservation of only animal and human activities like harvesting of timber, collecting minor forest products and private ownership rights are allowed as long as they do not interfere with well-being of animals.There are total 8 sanctuary in North Bengal
